Geological and geographical
featurea : Geologically the island is basically composed of volcanic material
such as basalt and trachyte, mixed with sedimentary rock and some clay. Volcanic
ash is evident in association with parasite cones dotting the island. The
eastern and western slopes of Mt. Halla have a gentle incline of 3 to 5 degrees
while the northern and southern faces are much steeper. |
