제주시내 관광은 아기자기한 즐거움을 자아낸다. 제주시내는 그다지 붐비지도 않고 시꺼럽지도 않아서 하루해가 저물 무렵에는 시내관광을 하면서 여정에 쌓인 피로를 풀 기에 알맞다. 　제주시는 신제주와 구제주로 나뉘어 있는데 신제주는 신시가지 계획에 따라 세워진 도시로서 도로가 반듯하고 여휴가 있으며 호텔등 관광객 대상업체가 많이 몰려 있다. 구제주는 제주시민과 도민의 생활에 필요한 시설들이 주로 들어서 있으며, 젊은층을 대상으로 하는 업체들과 시장등 이 있고, 중앙로는 사람들이 붐비는 곳이다. 시내 드라이브를 하기 좋은 코스는용두암을 거쳐 공항쪽 해안도로를 따라 포장마차(횟집)를 지나 공항주의를 한바퀴 돌아 나와서 공항진입로→용담로터리→중앙로터리→탑동→부두(방파제)→사라봉→문예회관→광양로터리→터미널→신제주 코스로서 시내 중심지인 중앙로터리와 광양로터리 부근을 제외한 지역은 도로가 붐비지 않아 좋다.

Cheju City, still relatively uncrowded and quite, is a great place for an evening stroll or drive. 　The city is divided into two sections : the "Old" city and Shincheju, the "New" city. Shincheju has broad, straight streets, thanks to city planning, and tourist shops. The older section of town has a quaint air with winding streets crowded with small shops and restaurants. The recommended course for the city drive is : Yongduam Rock-Coastal Road-Road to the Airport-Yongdam Rotary-Chungang Rotary-Tapdong-West Pier-Sarabong Peak-The Cultural center-Kwangyang Rotary-Local bus terminal-Shincheju.
